First, a little piece of news for you to follow. Grateful Dead lyricist John Barlow was arrested last September when Homeland Security (TSA) inspectors found some drugs inside his checked baggage. John is currently fighting the government based on an illegal search and seizure defense. This looks to be a very difficult path based on the current climate in the government, but I thought you should know about this. Try this link for a variety of news items on this developing story:

Things have simultaneously calmed down and gotten crazier here at the GDF Store. Order quantities have tapered off as most people (not me!) have already planned ahead, and done their shopping. But...this is when the last minute shoppers come out of the woodwork! But first, I want to tell you a feel-good story about a wonderful woman named Miriam Goldschmidt.

I got a call today from Miriam, saying that while yes, she received the box set she had ordered, she also got another package addressed to her, but inside was more box sets, and an invoice meant for someone else! When I finally realized how I had screwed up, and how I had no more box sets to get to the customer before the weekend, I was pretty bummed. Then, without prodding, Miriam suggested that she could directly send the package to the correct address for me, and all shall be well! I got pretty choked up at how kind she was, and I just wanted to share the story, so maybe we can all lend a hand to each other now and then! [end of corny soapbox story]
