Grateful Dead
Live at the Cow Palace New Year's Eve 1976 release date 1-23-07. The GDF Store will not take preorders until 30 days before release date
On December 31, 1976 – when this concert was recorded live at the Cow Palace in Daly City, CA – the Grateful Dead played their first New Year’s Eve date since 1972 (going forward, they would play one every year until ’91). The line-up was classic—Jerry Garcia, Donna Godchaux, Keith Godchaux, Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Phil Lesh, and Bob Weir—and the jams were epic. Over 13,000 fans shared a transcendent celebration and peak Dead experience that renowned KSAN-FM DJ and concert co-host Glenn Lambert described as, “one of those nights when they’re airborne from the start, and climbing fast on a jet to the Promised Land.”
